The Evolution of Wales Gallery |
Introduction If you really want to know about the geology of Wales, the National Museums and Galleries of Wales at Cardiff is the place to start. Spread out before you is a superb bilingual exhibition, full of rocks, minerals, and fossils that are all brought to life through spectacular audiovisual displays, videos, dioramas and a wealth of easily absorbed information. Your visit will take you through the amazing 4,600 million year journey of the tiny piece of the Earth’s crust that makes up Wales today. Whatever your interests are in geology you will find plenty to look at here before visiting the other sites on our Trail Through Time. In the nearby Diversity of the Natural World gallery there is a wonderful collection of fully labelled minerals laid out in stunning colour co-ordination. This is the ideal companion exhibit to your visits to the metalliferous mines in the trail. |
